Task-oriented dialogue systems are very important due to their wide range of applications. In particular, those tasks that involve multiple domains have gained increasing attention in recent years, as the actual tasks performed by virtual assistants often span multiple domains. In this work, we propose the Divide-and-Conquer Distributed Architecture with Slot Sharing Mechanism (DCDA-S2M) system, which includes not only a distributed system aimed at managing dialogues through the pipeline architecture, but also a slot sharing mechanism that allows the system to obtain information during a conversation in one domain and reuse it in another domain, in order to avoid redundant interactions and make the dialogue more efficient. Results show that the distributed architecture outperforms the centralized one by 21.51% and that the slot sharing mechanism improves the system performance both in the success rate and in the number of turns during the dialogue, demonstrating that it can prevent the agent from requesting redundant information.

# Welcome everyone to ACL 2022!

The 60th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics is taking place May 22-27, 2022 as a hybrid event, in Dublin and online. We are happy to welcome all of you to this anniversary edition with an almost 50-50 in-person and virtual participation. 
The main conference program features oral presentations, in-person and virtual posters and demo sessions, a plenary session for our best paper presentations and awards, three amazing keynote events and two new initiatives of invited talks: Spotlight Talks for Young Rising Stars (STIRS) and The Next Big Idea Talks. Posters (including Findings of ACL 2022) and demos are grouped by areas for both the in-person and the virtual sessions. For the virtual component, the talks will be on Zoom and the posters and the demos will be in GatherTown. The Student Research Workshop will have an oral session and a poster session as part of Poster Session 1. The program also features eight Tutorials and 28 Workshops.

**BRACIS** originated from the combination of the two most important scientific events in Brazil in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Intelligence (CI): the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence – **SBIA** (22 editions), and the Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks – **SBRN** (13 editions). **ENIAC** is a national forum for researchers, practitioners, educators and students to present and discuss innovations, trends, experiences, developments and work in progress in the fields of Artificial and Computational Intelligence. **STIL** is the bi-annual Language Technology event.
All events are supported by the Brazilian Computer Society – Special Interest Groups: **CE-IA**, **CE-IC** and **CE-PLN**.

Organized by C4AI, the 10th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS) will take place from November 29th to December 3rd, 2021.

The advance on Question Answering systems has achieved significant results, and new related problems have arisen. Few studies have addressed the Complex Knowledge Base Question Answering (C-KBQA) problem. This work presents an overview of C-KBQA systems. A collection of 54 papers were systematically selected, and a map of the methods, approaches, trends, future directions, and gaps in the C-KBQA research was performed. This study shows that C-KBQA systems need to handle multi-hop and constraint questions, and two approaches are usually used to address this problem.
