In this educational program, Dr. Lawrence Tanenbaum and Dr. William Baughman provide a comprehensive review of what the COVID-19 virus is, how it’s transmitted, as well as, how it presents clinically on various imaging modalities.  Additionally, a review of “real-world” clinical findings of COVID positive patients, who present with additional symptoms that are manifested from coronavirus will be shared. Following the presentations, a moderated discussion will take place where questions from the audience will be addressed.

A substantial proportion of patients with severe COVID-19 present with coagulation abnormalities which may lead to venous and arterial thromboembolic complications, which, if not properly prevented and/or timely detected can be associated with an increased risk of fatal outcome. This webinar is aimed at summarizing the characteristics of COVID-19 coagulation disorders, the laboratory and clinical findings in affected patients, and the role of the radiologist in the rapid recognition of pulmonary embolism which may properly direct patient management.

In this Expert Forum Webinar, Sheila Bero of Siemens Healthineers will discuss the benefits of utilizing Compressed Sensing acceleration techniques in MRI.  These techniques include using both static and dynamic methods throughout the body with a focus on Compressed Sensing GRASP-VIBE imaging parameters and the impact on image quality, and workflow benefits from utilizing free-breathing liver dynamics will be presented.   Attendees will hear tips on how to achieve a balance between temporal resolution and imaging artifacts and will increase their understanding of GRASP–VIBE imaging techniques, parameters, and trade-offs.

Compressed Sensing | Address More Patient Populations in MRI

This Expert Forum Webinar will discuss workflow issues that have occurred due to COVID-19 and anticipated workflow as the pandemic diminishes. Topics to be discussed are the effects of the pandemic on practice volumes and finances and strategies for recovery, allocation of personnel including trainees during a time of social distancing and screening and triage of patients prior to diagnostic studies and procedures.  In the absence of an imminent vaccine, it is advisable to develop a plan for mitigation of a potential recurrent wave of COVID-19.

The Influence of COVID on the Radiology Workflow
