SHORT BIO
Jan Mueller has studied Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Berlin Technical University with focus on aerodynamics, turbo-engines and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His primary interest lies in the simulation of complex flow and his previous research includes CFD heating simulations of gas insulated switchgears for the Siemens AG as well as a CFD analysis of turbocharger turbine behaviour for BorgWarner Inc.
In order to earn his Ph.D., he is currently doing research under Hans-Georg Matuttis at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo. Here he is working on a simulation code that is specifically designed to handle granular material submerged in a fluid.
