Prof. Takashi Matsushima received his Ph. D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, JAPAN in 1997. He has been a full professor at the University of Tsukuba since 2015. During his career, he spent one year at Laboratoire 3SR, Universite Grenoble, Alpes as a post-doc, nine months at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and one year at Cavendish Laboratory, the University of Cambridge as a visiting scholar. His expertise covers soil mechanics, earthquake geotechnical engineering, and earth and planetary science.
