SHORT BIO
Katherine received her B.S. in physics with a minor in applied math from Boise State University in 2014, and her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021. Her dissertation focused on the impacts of race and gender on student experiences in STEM and development of an upper-division thermal physics assessment, with a deliberate focus on trying to eliminate bias within the assessment. In parallel with pursuing her Ph.D., Katherine has worked toward attaining a secondary science teaching license to teach high school science and math. She will earn her teaching license and begin her secondary teaching career in January 2022.
