SHORT BIO
I am a final year Doctoral candidate in the Atomic Quantum Optics group lead by Prof. Dr. Morgan Mitchell at ICFO (The Institute of Photonic Sciences) in Barcelona. An experimentalist working on narrow-band photon-pairs for interaction with cold neutral atoms, my focus is in quantum non-linear frequency conversion, quantum information encoding in light and spectral analysis and tailoring at the single-photon level. Originally from Chennai, India, I completed by graduate and post graduate studies in physics at the National University of Singapore. As a part of the team lead by Dr. Bjorn Hessmo at CQT (Centre for Quantum Technologies), Singapore, I was involved in trapping and manipulation of ultra-cold neutral atoms on a chip for over 3 years before I started the PhD. With a background in both atomic physics and photonics my primary interests are in studying atom-photon interactions for applications in quantum metrology, information processing and networking.
