SHORT BIO
Dr. Daniel K. Marble began his academic career as a civilian Assistant Professor of Physics at the United States Military Academy of West Point before moving to Tarleton State University where he is a Texas A&M Regents Professor of Physics and the Chair of the Texas Physics Consortium. His primary research interests are in the areas of ion-solid interactions, ion beam analysis of materials, environmental radioactivity, physics education, and the application of accelerators to undergraduate education. He involves his undergraduate students in his research projects to motivate students to critically think, to problem solve, and to question as well as bringing industrial examples into his classroom. He is also actively involved in trying to increase the number and diversity of students pursuing STEM majors through various science teacher training and K-12 outreach activities.
