SHORT BIO
Tatiana Erukhimova is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, Texas A&M University. She received her PhD from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1999 and joined Texas A&M University in 2001. Currently Tatiana teaches large introductory physics classes and is a recipient of multiple awards for teaching and public outreach including the Presidential Professor for Teaching Excellence and the American Physical Society Fellowship. Tatiana’s current research interests include physics education research, in particular gender difference and inclusion in introductory physics classes, and building STEM identity. Tatiana was the 2020 Chair of the American Association of Physics Teachers Committee on Science Education for the Public. Tatiana organizes annual Physics & Engineering Festivals attended by thousands of visitors and other outreach events. Tatiana coauthored over 30 publications including an undergraduate textbook on Atmospheric Thermodynamics with Gerald North, published by Cambridge University Press in 2009. Her recent paper on gendered differences in student performance in introductory physics classes was featured in the Physics Magazine.
