SHORT BIO
Can Onur Avci was born in Şanlıurfa, Turkey in 1983. He obtained his BSc. from Bilkent University (2008), MSc. From Eindhoven University of Technology (2010) and Ph.D. from ETH Zürich (2015) with distinction. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and ETH Zürich between 2015 and 2020. Since 2021, he has been working as a principal investigator at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in Spain. His research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics and materials science and, in particular, spin-orbit-driven phenomena in low dimensional systems, electrical control of magnetization, and spintronic memory and logic devices.
