Dr. O’Malley is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Naval Postgraduate School. Serving in the Navy, he was both a Surface Warfare Officer and Naval Flight Officer, accruing more than 1,100 flight hours in F-14D Tomcats. As a scientist at Naval Information Warfare Center, he is currently serving as Director, Service Desks at the U.S. Navy Program Executive Office for Digital Enterprise Services where he is bringing machine learning capabilities to military customer support. He has been published in leading defense journals, including U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings, and has presented at forums at the Naval Information Warfare Systems Centers, the Naval Research & Development Data Science Workshop, Naval Applications of Machine Learning, and the Innovative Applications of Artificial Intelligence conference.
