SHORT BIO
Dr. Selcuk Atalay was born in Turkey in 1964. He got his Ph.D. in magnetoelastic properties of amorphous wires in 1992 from Bath University, United Kingdom. His interests are oriented to magnetocaloric materials, amorphous ferromagnetic wires and ribbons. His research interests also focus on magnetic measurements and magnetic sensors, especially magnetoimpedance and magnetoelastic effects. He has (co-)authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers in magnetism. At present, he is working as a lecturer and also he is head of the applied magnetism group at the Physics Department, Inonu University, Turkey. Selçuk Atalay received the young scientist award from The Scientific and technological Research Council of Turkey, TUBITAK, in 2000 and the young researcher incentive award from Turkey Science Academy, TUBA, in 2002 for outstanding contributions in the field of magnetic materials and application.
