SHORT BIO
Mark Bilinski earned his PhD in Mathematics from Georgia Tech in 2008 and has been a scientist at NIWC Pacific since 2012. He has been a leading advocate for 3D scanning technologies improving the way the Navy does installations and maintenance. His work in the Light Distance and Ranging (LiDAR) scanning of ships led to the SECNAV Innovation Award in 2016. Transitioning this capability formed a foundational pillar of the Reverse Engineering, Science and Technology, for Obsolescence, Repair, and Evaluation (RESTORE) Lab, which now leads the Navy in scanning the fleet.
