SHORT BIO
With more than 29 years of engineering experience, Dr. Walls is part of the Advanced Programs department and Artificial Intelligence (AI) group supporting multiple programs developing advanced algorithms for image, video, and simulation technologies. Dr. Walls has served as the PI and PM for numerous PI and PII DOD SBIRs most recently, he has lead two successful NAVSEA STTR's applying different aspects of AI to periscope imagery and is currently leading an effort on SONARFILM to convert FLS and SLS data fusion algorithms from Python to C++. Among Dr. Walls' expertise are classical and contemporary approaches to ML, often involving real-time systems targeting unique sensor systems, complex simulations, and decision support systems. Mr. Walls' education includes a BS and MS in EE from USC and Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Arizona.
