SHORT BIO
Behzad Kamgar-Parsi manages the “Machine Learning, Reasoning, and Intelligence Program” of the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Before joining ONR in 2000, he was a research scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory, the University of Maryland Center for Automation Research, and a post-doctoral fellow at the Rockefeller University Theoretical Physics Lab. He has also served as a consultant to NIST and NASA. He has conducted research in AI, computer vision, underwater acoustic imaging, statistics and kinetic theory of fluids. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Tehran (with highest honors) and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Maryland.
