SHORT BIO
Sharif Amit Kamran is a second year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. Sharif has received the Graduate Dean's award in his inaugural year and also a best paper award at an IEEE conference. So far he has written and published one Book chapter, three Journal articles and six conference papers focusing on Retinal Disease Diagnosis and Calcium Image Analysis. In addition to that, he served as a reviewer in BMVC2020, WACV2020 and ICRA2019, three top-tier computer science conferences. Quite recently he volunteered in the Army Education Outreach Program, where he mentored two high school graduates enthusiastic to join future STEM fields.
