SHORT BIO
Tiberio Uricchio is a PostDoc researcher in Computer Engineering, doing research and technology transfer on Computer Vision and Multimedia technologies and their application to industry. His research interests include image and video understanding, deep learning, video surveillance and social multimedia. He received his PhD in Computer Engineering cum laude from the University of Florence, Italy in 2016, with a thesis on social image tagging awarded as the best in the technological class of 2016 by the University of Florence and published as a book in 2017. From 2016, he is working at the center of excellence Media Integration and Communication Center of the University of Florence, Italy, first as a PostDoc and later from 2018 as a Senior PostDoc. He has authored or coauthored more than 30 publications in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. He has presented tutorials on social image tagging at three top international conferences (ACM MM 2015, CVPR 2016 and ICIAP 2017). He is an associate editor of the international journal Multimedia Tools and Application, co-organizer of the RISS2020 workshop at ICPR '20, and regularly serves as area chair and reviewer for international conferences and journals. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florence and teaches advanced deep learning for the program of PhD in Computer Engineering at the University of Florence.
