SHORT BIO
Ananda S. Chowdhury received the Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, USA, in July 2007. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, where he leads the Imaging, Vision and Pattern Recognition group. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA, from 2007 to 2008. He has authored or coauthored more than seventy papers in leading international journals and conferences, in addition to a monograph in the Springer Advances in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Series. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, biomedical image processing, and multimedia analysis. Dr. Chowdhury is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the IAPR TC on Graph-Based Representations. He currently serves as an editorial board member of Pattern Recognition Letters, IEEE Signal Processing Letters and Springer Nature Computer Science journals. His Erdӧs number is 2.
