SHORT BIO

Jhon Jairo Sáenz Gamboa, PhD Candidate. Graduated as a telecommunication engineer in 2015 from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where he also completed a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Form Recognition and Digital Image. For the last 5 years he has been working in the Biomedical Image Laboratory FISABIO/CIPF of the Valencian Community in Spain, as a data scientist and big data curator, using artificial intelligence techniques, pattern recognition, intensive computational modelling of images, natural language processing and applying standards such as Medical Imaging Data Structure (MIDS). Among the works and research projects in which he has participated are the morphological study of growth cones for Friedrich's ataxia, the generation of extensive anonymised and annotated databases of medical images for the epidemiological study of different neurological and spinal diseases. Currently, his main research is focused on the population and epidemiological study of the project "Massive Image Data Anatomy of the Spine" (MIDAS), with the purpose of studying the anatomical or structural variables that explain the physiopathology of low back pain. The contributions that this research can make to public health are motivating the development of his doctoral thesis in this area.
