SHORT BIO
Dr. Stephan Roche, ICREA investigator since October 2010 and leader of the group “Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience” Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). Professor S. Roche is a theoretician with more than twenty years of experience concerning the study of transport theory of low-dimensional systems, including graphene, carbon nanotubes, semiconducting nanowires, organic materials and topological insulators. He has published more than 100 papers in journals such as Review of Modern Physics, Nature Physics, Nano Lett. and Phys. Rev. Lett. (40 papers) and he is the co-author of the recently published book on “Introduction to Graphene-Based Nanomaterials: From Electronic Structure to Quantum Transport” (Cambridge University Press 2020). S.Roche has been awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel prize by the Alexander Von-Humboldt Foundation (Germany), and finally since 2011, he has been actively involved in the Graphene Flagship project, currently as a leader of the Graphene spintronics workpackage
