SHORT BIO
Giulia Venturi received her Ph.D degree in Computational Linguistics from the University of Torino in 2011 with a dissertation entitled “Language and law: a computational linguistics perspective”. She is currently a permanent researcher at the Institute of Computational Linguistics “Antonio Zampolli” (ILC) of the National Research Council of Pisa and she is a member of the ItaliaNLP Lab (www.italianlp.it) at ILC. She has published approx. 100 papers in conferences, workshops, journals, and books. Her main research interests include the design of Natural Language Processing methodologies to model diverse language varieties with a focus on multiple applications including Automatic Text Readability, Computational Stylometry, Native Language Identification, and Language Development. Her expertise also includes the design of Information Extraction modules from domain-specific corpora, with a specific focus on the legal and medical domains.
