Hello, this is Mingda, an applied scientist in Amazon. I am also a recent computer science PhD graduate from UCLA, where I enjoyed five wonderful years doing research in areas of machine learning, database system, and the intersection of the two areas. In particular, my research focuses on neural embedding to incorporate sequential information from different sources, efficient training of extremely-large output-class classifiers, database query optimization, and the approaches to boost the scalable data analysis on distributed database platforms. In Amazon, I am working as an Applied Scientist in Alexa AI focusing on Spoken Language Understanding, Knowledge Graph, Knowledge Distillation, etc.
