"Hugo Gonçalo Oliveira is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra (2013) and a researcher of the Center of Informatics and Systems of the same university (CISUC). He has a MSc e Informatics Engineering (2007), where he developed a system for the automatic generation of text based on rhythm (Tra-la-Lyrics). He worked on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and developed several computational resources for Portuguese (PAPEL, Onto.PT), in the scope of the Linguateca project (2007-08) and later on his PhD in Information Science and Technology, in the University of Coimbra. His PhD thesis, ""Towards the automatic construction of a lexical ontology for Portuguese"" (2013), was awarded the best in the Computational Processing of Portuguese (2011-14). In parallel, in the domain of Computational Creativity (CC), he developed PoeTryMe (2012), a framework for poetry generation, and participated in the European projects ConCreTe e PROSECCO (2013-16). He is a regular member of the program committee of the main conferences on NLP and CC (ACL, EMNLP, COLING, ICCC), the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers, the editor of 7 proceedings of related events, and participated in several Portuguese-funded research projects (InfoCrowds, REMINDS, Socialite, AIA)."
