SHORT BIO
Wenbo Guo is a Ph.D. Candidate of the College of IST at Penn State. He obtained his M.S from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2017. His research focuses on deep learning and computer security. His work includes improving the robustness, transparency, and safety of deep learning systems through statistical modeling and formal methods, and developing novel deep learning models for security applications. He is a recipient of the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship (2020-2022), Facebook/Baidu Ph.D. Fellowship Finalist (2020), and ACM CCS Outstanding Paper Award (2018). His research has been featured by multiple mainstream media and has appeared in a diverse set of top-tier venues in Security, Machine Learning, and Data Mining. Going beyond academic conferences, his work also has been recognized by world-famous industrial venues BLACKHAT and DEFCON. He also actively participates in many cybersecurity competitions such as DEFCON/GeekPwn AI challenges.
