"Sofia Samoili holds a surveying engineer diploma with specialisation in Transportation and Remote Sensing, and she is a graduate of the interdisciplinary MSc in “Environment and Development”, both from National Technical University of Athens (GR).

She was awarded her PhD (Dr ès Sc.) from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (CH) with focus on stochastic modeling and application on operation and control of Intelligent Transport Systems. As a doctoral assistant, she also worked on four international and Federal research projects. After a project placement in ETH Zürich (CH) investigating automated and connected vehicles driving behavior modelling, is since then a Research Fellow at the Digital Economy Unit of the Joint Research Center of European Commission (ES).

Currently, Sofia focuses on Natural Language Processing, as well as technology mapping with complex networks. She is an author of several international, peer-reviewed journal publications and has presented in various national and international conferences. "
