Digital worksheet questions based on health and life scenarios were developed for students in an introductory physics for life science course, to practice conceptual and algebraic modeling and quantitative analysis. Many of the quantitative values used were students’ own estimations or data or choice of scenario parameters from authentic data tables and graphs provided. Students would get different numerical answers depending on their details of choice, and possibly different evaluations of what their numerical answer inferred about the scenario. These materials were meant to support student transition into exploring the physics mechanisms underlying their own health/life scenarios.

In the online environment, we are encouraged to find ways to assess student progress that are resistant to online cheating, and also provide an especially &nbsp;supportive environment for learning in these challenging times. &nbsp;&nbsp;Our first semester IPLS course, serving a pre-PT and exercise science population, &nbsp;focuses heavily on biomechanics.&nbsp;&nbsp; After digital practice with provided biomechanics scenarios, focusing on different aspects every week, students work on those aspects in scenarios of their own.&nbsp;&nbsp; These weekly scenario digital submissions are submitted as drafts and feedback is given in screencasts going over their work.&nbsp;&nbsp; The subsequent revisions are what is assessed for competence in the learning outcomes of the course

Click and drag digital worksheets were created on which students can click and drag vectors, lines, text boxes, and symbols to create motion, force, and torque diagrams, as well as analyze graphs for biomechanics scenarios. These were made for use by student groups during an online synchronous introductory physics for life science class, but could be used in a myriad of other ways.
