SHORT BIO

Heather is an MD/PhD student pursuing a PhD in Cancer Biology focusing on translational cancer immunotherapy under the guidance of Dr. Sarwish Rafiq. Her research focuses on engineering novel cellular therapies, such as CAR T cells, to work as living micro-pharmacies to overcome tumor microenvironments. Combining her research investigating therapies for solid tumors and her clinical interest, Heather plans to pursue a career in General Surgery and specializing in Surgical Oncology.
