Hello,

My name is Philip Broughton, and I am a second-year medical student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville in Greenville, SC. I am originally from Aiken, SC where I spent most of my life until I relocated to Columbia, SC, where I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. After completing my undergraduate studies and taking a gap year, I moved to Tampa, FL, where I obtained my master’s in medical sciences. After completing my master’s degree, I returned to South Carolina and worked in cardiology research before beginning medical school in July of 2022. My journey to medicine has been one that has been in the making since I was about 4 or 5 years old. Through my clinical experiences as a pre-med and medical student and my research background, my passion for the field of medicine has only gotten stronger over the years and I look forward to what the rest of this journey has in store for me.
