SHORT BIO
Upon entering medical school, I wanted to ensure that my background in public health was emphasized in the activities and research in which I am involved. I am currently one of the National Medical Student Associate Chairs of Socially Responsible Surgery, an up-and-coming national organization dedicated to surgical equity. Similarly, my research also explores the relationship between social determinants of health and surgery. Whether that is by trying to affect policy in regards to treatment for survivors of gun violence with retained bullet fragments or by serving the medically disadvantaged population of the VA system, by identifying specific factors that impact hernia repair health outcomes.
