As a fourth-year medical student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, Michael G. Buontempo is working to change dermatology. With a year at NYU Dermatology, he collaborated with alopecia experts Dr. Jerry Shapiro and Dr. Kristen Lo Sicco, contributing to over 20 publications and three book chapters. Passionate about patient education, Michael has had key roles with the Scarring Alopecia Foundation, Sirius XM Doctor Radio, and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. He also helped develop AI tools for androgenetic alopecia at NYU Langone Health. Now seeking a residency, Michael aims to continue fusing innovation and empathy in patient care.
