SHORT BIO

Dr. Raghava R. Kommalapati is the Honeywell Endowed Professor and Director for the Center for Energy & Environmental Sustainability (CEES) and Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), A member of the Texas A&M University System. Since his tenure at PVAMU began in 1998, he has served in many capacities, including Department Head of Civil Engineering for 3.5 years. His areas of expertise are energy and environmental sustainability, life cycle analysis, air quality modeling, fog-air interactions, and membrane processes to treat fracking-produced water and slaughterhouse wastewater. His grant funding totals $18M over his career, and he has published more than 140 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings/extended abstracts, and more than 200 conference presentations. He is a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE), a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and an active member of the AEESP, AAEE, AIChE, and AWMA organizations.
