SHORT BIO

Dr. Regina Sievert is an NSF program director serving the CREST Postdoctoral Research Program and the Tribal Colleges and University Program. Prior to joining NSF six years ago, she spent years conducting research in visual psychophysics then evolved into a STEM education researcher, applying her doctoral training to the study of culturally responsive education and the preparation of Indigenous Secondary STEM teachers. Dr. Sievert has collaborated for over three decades with Tribal Nations, Indigenous communities, and K-20 educators, focusing on the strengthening of STEM education and research. She, along with her husband and daughter, hail from northwestern Montana and their home community of the Flathead Reservation, where they enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits.
