SHORT BIO
When choosing from a broad set of options (e.g., which of the many Syndey bars to go to tonight), there are different strategies with which we choose to explore options we never tried before. For my PhD project, I study such exploration strategies and how contextual cues can modulate them. I conduct this research in the labs of Senne Braem and Tom Verguts (Department of Experimental Psychology, Ghent University, Belgium), where I extend computational models of reinforcement learning and test these with behavioral experiments. I have a background in Physics and Astronomy (Msc obtained at Ghent University), and am passionate about enhancing predictability amidst complex phenomena.
