SHORT BIO
Rakesh M. Verma is currently a professor of computer science from the University of Houston, where he leads the Reasoning and Data Analytics for Security (ReDAS) Laboratory. He has coauthored Cybersecurity Analytics (CRC Press, 2019). He is an associate editor for the Frontiers in Big Data for Cybersecurity. He was the NSF- Fulbright Distinguished Professor of Cybersecurity at the University of Iceland in 2023. He won the 2013 UH’s Lifetime Mentoring Award for mentoring undergraduate research and was the program co-chair of the 11th and 12th ACM Conference on Data and Applications Security and Privacy (CODASPY 2021 and 2022). He was an ACM distinguished speaker for seven years and a Senior Fulbright Specialist He was the recipient of a Best Paper Award for the paper on Collocation Detection from CICLING 2016, and Outstanding Paper Award for The embodied nature of narrative knowledge, in Teaching and Teacher Education Journal, from the American Educational Research Association (2019).
