SHORT BIO
Ritu is a rising senior at the Harker School in San Jose, CA. She is passionate about applying Natural Language Processing and machine learning to address racial disparities across healthcare and education systems, and her research has appeared in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. She won 2nd place and received the IBM award at the Silicon Valley Synopsys Science Fair for her independent research project which created a computational solution to reduce the misdiagnosis of Hispanic bilingual students for language disorders, using the same code-switching identification method outlined in her ACL paper. In college, Ritu looks forward to continuing to pursue research projects that make the world a better place.
