SHORT BIO
"Dr. Ying Cao is an Assistant Professor of Education and the Director of the Innovation and Teaching Center at Drury University. As an Assistant Professor in the School of Education and Child Development, Dr. Cao teaches courses including Secondary School Curriculum, Methods of Teaching Science, and Methods of Teaching Mathematics. As the Director of Innovation and Teaching Center, Dr. Cao is in charge of faculty development of Drury University, conducting various activities from New Faculty Orientation, One-on-One Consultation, to Action Research Fellowship. Dr. Cao Received a Ph.D. in STEM Education at Tufts University in the United States, and a B.S. from Beijing Normal University in China, majoring in physics. Dr. Cao’s research is focused on student learning and (meta)cognition in STEM disciplines. Before coming to Drury University, Dr. Cao was a postdoctoral scholar at Oregon State University in the United States, conducting Engineering Education research, and working with faculty development and organizational change projects. Dr. Cao also taught high school physics in China and introductory physics in the United States."
