Dr. Amr Haggag joined Google as AI & custom silicon head of Q & R after ~6 yrs leading Apple silicon design and technology reliability. Prior he was at #1 automotive and networking chipmaker Freescale / NXP for ~13 yrs leading silicon and eNVM reliability. He has ~20 yrs semiconductor industry experience spanning technology to design to product to field quality and reliability management and improvements including machine learning based QA, qualifying consumer, automotive and networking SoCs for handhelds, wearables, home theatre, engine management, ISO26262 safety, ADAS, enterprise switches/routers, data centers / cloud, trust security, base stations / cell towers and software defined networking/radio (SDN/SDR). He also served on the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) reliability committee as well as the management and technical committee of the IEEE premier conference on semiconductor reliability, IRPS. He has over 40 publications including several invited talks and tutorials in the semiconductor reliability field including a best paper on machine learning based QA. He received his PhD degree in 2002, his MS degree in 1999 and his BS degree in 1996 all from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
