Dr. King-Ip (David) Lin is currently an Associate Professor at Southern Methodist University. Dr. Lin received his Ph. D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland in College Park in 1996. His research areas includes database systems, machine learning, and (current focus) natural language processing. Currently research area includes text mining with social media, improving reliability with topic models. Dr. Lin has also have strong experience in inter-disciplinary research. He has collaborations with faculty from psychology, medicine, journalism, interior design and history.
