SHORT BIO
Chika Okeke is a third-year medical student at the University of California, Irvine, and a Leadership Education to Advance Diversity–African, Black, and Caribbean (LEAD-ABC) Scholar. One of the major reasons she pursued medicine and got involved in this research project is to care for the ABC population. Through research, she hopes to highlight healthcare disparities for minority populations and eventually work with healthcare professionals and public health officials to decrease those disparities. As an aspiring African-American female physician, she wants to ensure that all her future patients are heard and advocated for.
