SHORT BIO
Omar Ramadan, MD, MSc, is a PGY6 general surgery resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania planning to pursue a career in academic vascular surgery. Dr. Ramadan has a strong interest in health policy and health disparities research, and just completed two years in the lab working with Dr. Grace Wang to investigate the impact of state and national health policy on healthcare disparities and outcomes in various vascular surgery subpopulations. He was also mentored by Drs. Rachel Kelz and Jeffrey Silber, experts in the field of surgical outcomes research. During this time, funded by a competitive institutional T32 grant in Postdoctoral Training in Health Services Research, he also obtained a Masters of Science in Health Policy Research and a certificate in Healthcare Leadership in Quality at Penn. He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgeons’ Quality and Performance Measures Committee and Government Relations Committee.
