SHORT BIO

Dr. Danielle Levin, M.D. is an Anesthesiologist and Pain Medicine Physician at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. Dr. Levin received her Medical Doctorate with a Distinction in Research from Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduated Anesthesiology Residency with the Paul R. Levesque, M.D. Resident Award of Excellence in Pain Management from St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, and completed Pain Medicine Fellowship at New York University.

Dr. Levin specializes in managing headaches, migraines, atypical facial pain, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, neuropathic pain, pudendal neuralgia, pelvic pain, and cancer-related pain. She also cares for patients who have neck, hip, and low-back pain; pain in the peripheral joints, which are in the arms and legs; nerve pain; and other conditions. Dr. Levin collaborates with surgeons, obstetrician–gynecologists, oncologists/palliative care physicians, primary care physicians, physical therapists, dentists, and psychologists to provide personalized care.

To help relieve patients’ pain, Dr. Levin prescribes medications, recommends physical therapy and lifestyle changes, and performs interventional pain management procedures, such as Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks, Botox therapy, Lidocaine/Ketamine Infusions, Joint/Muscle injections, Stellate Ganglion Blocks, Epidurals, and Nerve Blocks.

Patients who are in pain sometimes develop anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Levin performs interventional procedures that can also help with those symptoms. She asks patients about their lifestyle, because certain factors, such as stress, lack of exercise, an unhealthy diet, and poor sleep, can exacerbate pain.

Dr. Levin enjoys conducting research. So far, she has published 23 peer reviewed articles and has had over 100 peer reviewed abstracts accepted to regional, state, national, and international medical conferences. Dr. Levin presents on rare pain conditions, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, lidocaine infusions, and other anesthesiology and pain-related topics.

Although Dr. Levin uses imaging results to help guide treatment, she relies more heavily on what a patient tells her. For Dr. Levin, it is extremely satisfying when patients say they feel heard, their pain has been addressed, and they have experienced relief as a result of treatment. Dr. Levin enjoys making a difference in each person’s life.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Levin enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, and spending quality time with her family.
