SHORT BIO
Samantha Lau is a fourth year medical student and pre-doctoral Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellow at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). Samantha currently attends the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine. Under the mentorship of Dr. Wade Chien in the Inner Ear Gene Therapy Program at NIDCD, Samantha is studying the application of genome editing and CRISPR technology in a mouse model of hereditary hearing loss. Her goal is to continue research throughout her clinical training and eventually pursue a career as a physician-scientist.
