SHORT BIO
Hi! My name is Myra Zaheer, and I am currently a first-year medical student at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. I recently graduated from George Washington University with my Bachelor’s in Psychological and Brain Sciences and Public Health. After graduating, I joined a team of investigators at National Institutes of Health to study the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematous in pediatric populations. I also work as a research intern at the Sheikh Zayed Surgical Institute of Children’s National Hospital in DC, contributing to projects in the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology. My research interests include exploring the onset of infectious diseases, most particularly in minority pediatric populations. Outside of medical school and research labs, I enjoy baking, running, and spending time with my kitten!
