SHORT BIO
Rose Caston is an M.D., Ph.D. student at the University of Utah, completing her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. As a future physician-scientist, Rose is particularly interested in the electrophysiological properties of psychiatric and neurological diseases and how perturbations can improve clinical outcomes. Her current research uses signal processing to understand cerebral pain networks and the use of neuromodulation for treatment. Rose is also heavily involved in her translational research community. She leads the Scientific and Development Committee for the American Medical Women’s Association, serves on the Univ. of Utah MD-PhD Steering Committee, and is the current MD-PhD Student Body Representative at Utah. She serves on many other committees involving medical education reform for the medical school. When not on campus, you can find her in the Utah mountains with her Miniature Australian Shepherd.
