Marcelo Cardillo is Professor at the Instituto Multidisciplinario de Historia y ​Ciencias Humanas​, Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His work focuses on understanding lithic technology, large-scale patterns of cultural and technological diversity within a framework of Darwinian Evolutionary Theory. In particular, he is interested in quantitative methods (such as metric and morphometric analysis) to capture technological diversity. Currently, his work focuses on the north coast of Patagonia and hunter-gather-fisher populations occupying this region from at least 6000 years BP.
