Emily Klein is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department at the University at Albany. She earned her Ph.D. and Master of Science in Cognitive Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Klein’s research focuses on language, conspiracy theories, and online extremism. She has worked on projects examining knowledge induction of complex events from big data, and corpus development methodologies for natural language understanding. Her most recent work examines linguistic patterns on subreddits and alt-tech social networking sites.
