Kaveesha Wijesinghe graduated from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka with a BSc special degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. She obtained her PhD degree in Biochemistry from University of Notre Dame, United States of America, and conducted postdoctoral training at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. She later returned to Sri Lanka and joined the Faculty of Medicine, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka as a Lecturer in Biochemistry. Currently, she is serving as a Lecturer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at her alma mater, University of Colombo. Her current research interests include molecular virology and biochemical basis of chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKDu).
