SHORT BIO
I am a Research Professor focused on building cutting edge optical microscope systems for biological imaging. My recent research has been devoted to pushing the boundaries of super resolution imaging systems, building microscopes integrating cutting edge optical developments into user accessible systems. I am also responsible for the Integrated Imaging Center, combining optical microscopy, electron microscopy, cell sorting and a wide range of axillary equipment for more than 500 regular users mostly within Johns Hopkins University. I Have recently moved from the University of Oxford where I started and built a large and successful optical imaging facility, then progressed to being Technical Director, still closely involved in the running of the facility but focused on novel instrument development.
