SHORT BIO
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London in the field of insect biomechanics. I recently finished my PhD on the mechanics of the insect bite apparatus, after completing a BSc in Biomimetics in Bremen, Germany. I am interested in the physical contraints that govern complex biological phenomena, e.g. the effects of body size, worker age, bite force capacity and mandible sharpness on the ability to forage in leaf-cutter ants.
