SHORT BIO
Cecilia Ying is a Ph.D. candidate in Analytics at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. Her research explores the application of large language models in natural language processing tasks and their potential societal impacts. She is also interested in machine learning and AI model explainability, biases, and corrections. Her work has been presented at leading Computer Science and Management Science conferences, including Neural Information Processing Systems, Association for Computational Linguistics and INFORMS. Cecilia is the recipient of the SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship and the Smith School of Business New Ph.D. Student Research Excellence Award. Previously, Cecilia worked as a director of Credit Risk Analytics in Global Risk Management at Scotiabank.
