SHORT BIO
Ammar Shaker is a senior research scientist at NEC Laboratories Europe. He received a master's degree in data and knowledge engineering from the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in 2010 and a Ph.D. in computer science from Paderborn University in 2016. The title of his thesis is "Novel Methods for Mining and Learning from Data Streams". He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Intelligent Systems Group, supervised by Prof. Eyke Hüllermeier at Paderborn University. His main research interests include machine learning and data mining, in particular domain adaptation, continual learning, and explainable AI.
